Hello there! let's get to know each other. I'll go first.

I'm Chris. I'm a...

PHOTOGRAPHER. PHYSICAL THERAPist. sport scientist. ENTREPRENEUR. TRAVEL ENTHUSIAST.

I spent a year traveling the world with my father at age 13. I was gifted a FujiFilm point-and-shoot camera, and he taught me to value light, composition, and perspective over fancy equipment and technical production. Here I am two decades later with the experience and vision to integrate those components of photography towards documenting you and the most important parts of your life… and with slightly fancier equipment.

Photography is more than just clicking a button; it is about conveying a message or a feeling through by freezing an instantaneous moment in time. When you come on a photoshoot with me, I am going to push the boundaries of your comfort zones. I will ask you to let me into your life, not as a photographer, but as a friend. It may be awkward. It may be unorthodox. But it will also be fun, and hey… you’ll get some good photos from it, at least!

When not documenting life for other humans, my time is usually spent running a mobile-based physical therapy practice, where I apply my Doctorate in Physical Therapy towards helping my patients return to functional and pain-free lives. Or on a plane somewhere…

"Free time" has become a bit of a thing of the past, these days! But, I'll either be on a hiking trail, trying to catch sunsets, running or cycling, on a plane, or at a craft brewery/winery. During the summer, you can definitely catch me at a ballpark (M's, Aqua Sox, or even Rainiers)

I'm not sure why I chose to include a question that would be so difficult to answer. It's either gotta be the trail that leads to Second Beach or Yellow Aster Butte in the Cascades.

I have an exceptionally broad taste in music, and is very mood-dependent. But, Mat Kearney, Roo Panes, Jamestown Revival, Austin Plaine, Novo Amor, Ryan Harris, Caamp, Gavin James, and Ocie Elliot have permanent residences on my Spotify rotation. But, I am also a huge fan of Kygo, Odesza, Banners, Quinn XCIII, Novo Amor, Shallou, Frenship, and can easily switch to Rock, Hip Hop, or electronic.

Despite an appreciation for connecting with other people, I can actually be quite introverted and shy, and often steer clear of crowds whenever humanly possible.

I also managed to play collegiate baseball, before finding out years later that I batted and threw with my non-dominant hand.

Drowning. Although, I am not sure how irrational that is, and I love boats, kayaks, canoes, jet skis, paddleboards, and basically anything else that floats and moves in water.

Visit all seven continents. I have two remaining. If anyone needs a travel companion to Antarctica, hit that contact button above!

Buying a one way plane ticket to Thailand after undergrad to teach English. I boarded a plane with two suitcases, a recent TESOL certificate (yet no experience teaching), and a brand new motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license. I returned with lifelong friends and the most edifying experience of my life, one year later.

I visited the South Island of New Zealand when I was 13, armed with a point-and-shoot FujiFilm. I was still learning the basics of photography... light, texture, composition, contrast, etc. I would love to learn with the knowledge and gear I have now!

... a garbage truck driver. No, seriously. I was enthralled by monstrous vehicles and machinery (like any young guy), especially trains, monster trucks, and of course... garbage trucks. Until one day I got a whiff of one. Later on, in high school I gravitated towards graphic and web design, changed to civil engineering in college, before settling on Kinesiology/Healthcare after foregoing the pursuits of becoming a firefighter and an airline pilot

Thai food. It's the one thing I can eat day in and day out and not get tired of (after all, I've lived there for nearly 2 years of my life). Hard to beat green curry, tom kha soup, and larb salad. Or basically anything with garlic, chili, lime, lemongrass, and coconut milk. Top it off with sticky rice and mango....

My Teammate

KATE.

The Jill of all trades. The utility player.

On wedding days, she may function as my second shooter, the still life stager, the lens caddy, the dress floofer, the water sourcer, the hair fixer, the Mary Poppins bag, the time keeper, and the gentle reminder for me to sit down, take a breath, and eat dinner before it gets cold.

Core Values

Connection

I am ecstatic to meet you, develop a relationship with you, and treat you as a friend, not just another transaction.

INCLUSIVITY

I welcome and embrace all humans in front of my lens, with the same level of service and respect given to all clients!

Empathy

It's about you, not me. Your emotions, personalities, experiences, and stories. As much as possible in a short period of time, I genuinely want to learn about, and understand, you.

Respect

I am committed to the preservation and sanctity of the PNW outdoors. I practice “LEAVE NO TRACE” principles and will not abandon ethics or respect for the environment, just “to get the shot.”
